Our mission is to...

The mission of the Children’s Legacy Partnership is to help break the cycle of poverty for children and families by supporting education and career opportunities in at-risk communities in the U.S. and developing countries.

We provide academic, career, financial and health education for vulnerable children and families in communities in the U.S. and developing countries.  We work with communities from the inside out to develop solutions that lead to economic and environmental sustainability.

What We Do

Our vision is to create a system of support for vulnerable children where they have access to education and healthcare, in a world free from violence, where they are empowered to not only reach their potential but to live their legacy of helping others.

Our Vision

Why us?

Why start another charitable organization when there seem to be so many already?  First, the need is still great. Poverty and malnutrition causes nearly a third of deaths in children under 5 in developing countries- nearly 3.1 million children each year (hunger statistics, WFP & FAO 2013). The leading cause of malnutrition is poverty.  There is no single agency that has the resources or capacity to meet the needs or solve the problem of children living in poverty. To that end, many children, families, and communities are not served by existing organization.

Through our many years of experience providing aid and service in Uganda, and teaching children in the United States, we have identified an effective model of support that promotes not only financial independence but a legacy of “paying it forward.”  Program recipients become part of a network that gives back in kind, and scales the impact of the foundation. We continually work to identify and mitigate risk factors related to dropping out of school.  We view education as the catalyst for breaking the cycle of poverty and violence worldwide.

In the 21st century and beyond, our belief is that all children deserve access to nutritious food, education, a livable wage, a healthy environment, and freedom from violence.

It is our belief that once you see need you cannot turn away, for doing so diminishes our own humanity.
