It’s All in a Day’s Work

It was just a typical Monday for our team in Kamuli.  When I get up at about 5 am, they have all been busy for 8 hours and our WhatsApp group chat is full of photos of all that is happening!

Hilda and Prossy were at our Buwudha Girl's Vocational Center where there was a buzz of activity as the girls were learning from the tailoring instructor Emma.

They were making items they will eventually sell in the new cooperative storefront we are raising funds for. This is Elizabeth making a tablecloth that she'll sell

Hilda was deep in thought trying to come up with a solution to provide more space for the girls and their children who come each day while their moms are learning. They need a space with shade so Hilda and Prossy suggested an awing that can come off the front of the center.  This will cost about $50 and we hope to have it built soon.

Annet was working with the women in our Kisakyamukama women's craft business group as they were learning some new techniques for weaving and dying fibers. They are also making crafts to sell in our future cooperative store.

At the same time, Aminsi was getting a wheelchair from Kampala for little Patricia and buying food supplies for her and her mother.

All of this is only possible because of you, our wonderful donors

Without you, there are no programs, no help for these children.  When mothers can learn and earn, they can feed and educate their children.

This week I was reminded of the Margaret Mead quote,Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed individuals can change the world. In fact, it's the only thing that ever has.”

You, our community of supporters are making an incredible difference for so many!!

With Gratitude,

Mary
