Happy Birthday to CLP!
It's been eight years since our first Empower Youth Leadership Conference and seven years (this week) since we received our 501c3 nonprofit designation.
It's been 14 years since my first trip to Uganda!
What a journey it's been!
Our first conference with 16 girls. Then we grew, and grew, and grew!
We've impacted hundreds of children in the U.S. and Uganda. All with a budget of under $50,000 each year.
We received six Innovation Awards from the NoVo Foundation for our Empower Youth Leadership Program in the U.S.
The pandemic presented many challenges and opportunities. It uncovered many needs in rural Uganda. It helped us to better focus our programs on teaching people skills so they can support themselves.
We also learned how fragile the food supply is and have worked on more localized crop growing so that children have better nutrition.
Many deliveries of school supplies, gardens planted, and leadership training
We've learned some of the most effective ways to lift families out of poverty.
Because of the dedication and expertise of our team in Uganda, we have successful programs in place.
Through it all, you, our dedicated donors have made it possible for many children's lives to be changed for the better.
A big “Thank You” to our Legacy Leaders who give each month, and have provided a solid foundation for our programs to continue.
Each day I get to see the generosity and kindness from you, our donors and supporters who care about making this world a better place.
Right now we are only limited by financial resources and we are working hard to fundraise so we can serve more children.
We are excited about the future and the difference we can make with you by our side!
With Gratitude,
Mary
