Live from Uganda!

Wow! It's hard to know where to start- I've been in Uganda two days and already visited many of our projects and seen many old friends.  The pic above is a delivery to Mary and her daughters, Jackie and Mary. Thanks to you, our donors, they received much-needed food relief, plus seeds and seedlings to plant for food security.

I'll share A LOT when I return but wanted to give you just a brief update.

Even though I've been here many times, and I talk to our advisors every day, and see photos and videos, when I'm here I remember just how challenging life is in rural Uganda.

I'm seeing first-hand the incredible difference you, our donors, have made in the children's lives!  I wish you could be here to experience the joy and gratitude of so many you have helped.  I've received many hugs from the kids and women that you've provided an education for, food, supplies, and housing!

We visited Monika to see how she is doing in school!

We kicked off the new school year of our Connecting Cultures program between Hinesburg Community School in Vermont, and Nayenga Primary School in Uganda. Last week, Prossy and I presented Ugandan culture to the 5th and 6th-grade students in Vermont.

This week, we did a live video visit that was AMAZING!  There was singing, dancing, and poetry. The kids in Uganda showed some local foods, crafts, and clothing.  The kids on both sides asked questions and learned a lot about each other's culture.  Then we delivered the pen pal letters from the U.S. and the students in Uganda will be writing back!

Thank you all for what you have made possible!

I'm trying to post on FB each day when I can (Internet connection is very slow) if you want to see more pics and videos.

With Gratitude,

Mary
