Three Months In
It's hard to believe the first three months of 2025 are gone! You all have made so much change happen for many children and families!!
Here is a recap of just some of what you have made possible so far this year.
Fourteen children are now attending school that otherwise would not have been able to return. Most are orphans living with elderly grandparents with limited resources to support them.
Three schools and 125 students in the U.S. participated in our Connecting Culture lessons and video exchanges. Students are learning what it means to be a leader and a global citizen.
5th and 6th grade students at Hinesburg Community School in Vermont raised $1500 with a Penny War. These funds went to support education for students in Uganda including tuition, school supplies, desks, and improving a school garden. These 11 and 12-year-olds are changemakers and we are all incredibly grateful for their help! Thank you to all of their teachers who brought the jars of change and fed the coins into the machine!
Our women's craft store opened in Kamuli town center helping to support 30 single mothers. They are adding inventory and slowly building the business.
Classes at our Girl's Vocational Center are very full and busy. Twenty girls are learning tailoring and 15 are learning hairdressing. It's amazing to see the girls' confidence grow as they learn and start to earn money.
Reproductive health classes are being held in the villages and girls are receiving period supply kits.
Several single mothers and grandmothers like Razia, Rose, Ruth and Jennifer were able to get their businesses up and running so they can support their children.
Sleeping and health conditions were improved for many families with new mattresses, blankets, and the distribution of mosquito nets to help prevent malaria.
New teen mothers like Grace, Nuru, and Fazirah were helped with much-needed supplies so that their babies could be safe and healthy. Without your support, these girls and infants would have no one to help them.
Thank you for being honorary aunties, uncles, and grandparents! It makes a big difference to the girls knowing someone cares about them!
Thanks to the 100 women who attended Glowcon in Pinehurst, North Carolina, $2175 was raised which will fund period supply kits for 87 girls!
This gives girls their health, dignity, and freedom, and allows them to get an education. Thanks to all the women who came together in such a powerful way for these girls!
The well in Nabwigulu village was repaired, restoring clean water to 300 families.
Thank you for continuing to partner with us, for jumping in to help when asked, and for investing in the future of the children!
You are an amazing, supportive community!
With Gratitude,
Mary
P.S. In case you scrolled right to the bottom- you really are making a big difference for 100s of children Thank you!
